About Christ Church Of Columbia
Our Vision
Christ Church is part of the body of Christ, and we are striving toward maturity in Him by equipping watchers to use one or more of the nine gifts as recorded in I Corinthians 12.
Each member will use that gift or gifts for the edification of the body. We are a body that loves the Lord, and we will demonstrate such by hearing, reading, studying, memorizing, and meditating on the Word of God; praying without ceasing, praising without shame; and serving without sadness.
We will be a church of different ministries where the Holy Spirit manifests Himself through any channel that God has provided for Him, including tongues, miracles, and healing. Our leadership will consist of men and women who are committed to being godly role models. Our members will be taught the Word of God through Christian Education Programs that are biblically based and will speak the Word with boldness to live a victorious life in Christ.
The family is the foundational unit of the body, and we will encourage participation by all, whether they are single parents, youth, senior citizens, husbands, or wives.
We will win lost souls to Christ through evangelism locally and abroad as God leads.
We shall minister to the needs of the economically disadvantaged, educationally deprived, socially outcast, and spiritually disenfranchised within the community as the need arises and as God gives directions.
What We Believe
We believe in one God, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent; the Creator, sustainer of the universe, revealing Himself to us in His Word as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that God is love and that as we love God first, we are able to love self and neighbor.
We believe that the will of God is to be done through the Body of Christ in decency and in order.
We believe that we are accountable to God and are to leave an inheritance to future generations.
We believe the Holy Bible to be the inerrant, infallible, living, and abiding Word of God, revealing the character, will, and mind of God, disclosing His plans for the universe and man, the crown of His creation.
We believe that every member must be submitted and connected to the visionary and the vision, which are ordained of God.
We believe in the sanctity of Christian marriage. A man leaves his father and mother and unites with a woman as his wife; they will become one flesh.
We believe that through the sin of Adam, the first man, all mankind is under a curse of sin and death and is only saved through the atonement of Jesus Christ, the Last Adam.
We believe that through Jesus Christ we have wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. We also have, through Him, all of the temporal provisions for our physical life, including healing of the body and mind and all material needs.
We believe that the church is the Body of Christ; therefore, every believer must identify with the Church.
We believe in the sacraments of Water Baptism and Holy Communion.
We believe in the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit, enduring and empowering believers to speak with tongues and imparting diverse gifts to the members of the Body of Christ.
We believe in the final judgment, with the resurrection of the righteous to eternal bliss and the wicked to eternal damnation; alienated from the presence of God.
